West Bengal reports first confirmed case of Coronavirus

A 18-year-old man, who recently returned from the UK,  has become the positive novel coronavirus patient in the state of West Bengal.

The man was admitted to Beleghata ID Hospital after he showed symptoms of Covid-19, and medical examinations revealed that the person had contracted novel coronavirus. The patient was reportedly asymptomatic and not detected during screening at the airport in Kolkata when he arrived from the UK.

The patient has now been kept in isolation.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India is 137 so far, with Maharashtra at 38 and Kerala with 25.
