Confirmed Covid-19 cases now at 527 in India

Over 25 new cases of novel coronavirus cases have been reported from across the country

While most parts of India face a lockdown to contain the novel coronavirus, the number of Covid-19 has reached 527. Over 25 new cases of novel coronavirus cases have been reported from across the country, with the first case coming to the fore from the North East. A total of 20,864 samples from 19,974 individuals have been tested for SARS-CoV2 as on 24thMarch 2020 10:00 AM, said ICMR.

India's death toll due to coronavirus has now reached 10.  A 65-year-old coronavirus patient, with a history of travelling to UAE, passed away in Mumbai today. This is the third death reported from Mumbai.

The patient, who was also suffering from pre-existing ailments, including high blood pressure and severe diabetes, was admitted to Kasturba Hospital.

Earlier, a 63-year-old coronavirus patient, and a 68-year-old man from Philippines who recovered from coronavirus infection, had died in Mumbai.

To contain the spread COVID-19 outbreak in India, several parts of India are in lockdown and  all integrated check posts (ICPs) at all airports, seaports, land ports, rail ports, and river ports have been closed.
