Cadila, SEWA host Kishori Mela

Cadila Pharmaceuticals and SEWA collaborate to organize a Kishori Mela for young girls of Gujarat

Cadila Pharmaceuticals, in partnership with SEWA (Self Employed Women’s Association), organized a Kishori Mela to provide young girls with essential knowledge and awareness. Over 200 adolescent girls from Dholka and Daskroi talukas benefited from the event, which focused on proper nutrition during adolescence.

The Kishori Mela featured informative activities and sessions, including demonstrations on the nutritional benefits of millets, programs on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, and details about the Women’s Helpline 181. The event also focused on health and hygiene with sessions on anaemia, nutrition, and overall well-being. The girls participated in cultural programs showcasing hygienic and nutritious food, the significance of superfood millets, and environmental awareness.

Dr Bharat Champaneria, Trustee at Indrashil Kaka-Ba and Kala Budh Public Charitable Trust, said, “Cadila Pharmaceuticals is committed to giving back through various CSR initiatives. Education of the girl child, women’s health and empowerment are initiatives we support. We look forward to associating with SEWA for similar initiatives in the future.”

During the event, a senior leader from Cadila CSR gave demonstrations on millets. Heenaben from KVK spoke about women’s well-being. Vrutikaben from the Children’s Welfare Department covered topics like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and 181 Helpline. Muniraben, the health officer of Dholka, educated participants about anaemia, nutritious food, and cleanliness. Sonalben of the Aatma Project in Dholka spoke about natural farming.

The Kishori Mela witnessed participation from over 200 girls from various villages including Bhetavada, Trasad, Nesda, Pisawada in Dholka taluka, and Bhat and Hirapur in Daskroi taluka, Ahmedabad district.
