FUJIFILM India has launched the Never Stop Screening to Reduce Diagnostic Delays TB awareness campaign as part of the Government of India‘s mission to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) from the country by 2025. The campaign focuses on conducting door-to-door TB awareness and screening campaigns using a mobile TB detection machine to reach populations in targeted regions. The first phase of the campaign screened 12,000 individuals with TB symptoms among over 10 lakh people in the Northern belt.
The second phase aims to target marginalized communities in the western, southern, and eastern regions of India. FUJIFILM India has invested in TB detection campaigns in Kerala, Assam, and Gujarat to combat TB in these areas. As part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the company has extended sample and supply assistance for sputum testing in private labs and provided 6000 nutrition support kits to TB-positive patients in Assam, Kerala, and Gujarat.
FUJIFILM India’s commitment to diagnostics is evident through equipping the Goodricke tea estate in Assam with a Micro-Biology Based TB Detection machine. The company has also contributed equipment and additional support to private labs and sputum testing in the targeted regions. Koji Wada, Managing Director of FUJIFILM India, emphasized the company’s dedication to reaching difficult terrains and underserved populations with their technology.
FUJIFILM India is engaged in various initiatives, including the Nutrition Support for TB/DR TB Patients program, TB screening campaigns using AI-enabled portable X-Ray-X-Air devices, and the TB Eradication, Awareness, and Management (TEAM) Program across three states.
