The experts gathered at the 2nd National Pediatric Stroke Conclave 2024 in Bengaluru advocated for improving pediatric stroke prevention, care, and treatment. The conclave was inaugurated by Dr Nirmal Surya, President, Indian Stroke Association (ISA).
The conclave aimed to improve pediatric care and address pressing issues in the field. Key highlights include neuroimaging, pediatric vasculitis, cardioembolic stroke, and hyperacute management. The two-day event brought together national and international experts who shared their knowledge with the audience members and discussed the latest research and advancements in pediatric stroke.
The conclave was spearheaded by Dr Nirmal Surya, President, Indian Stroke Association (ISA), Dr Vikram Huded, Organizing Chairman, ISA, Dr Arvind Sharma, Secretary, ISA, Dr Minal Kekatpure, Organizing Secretary, ISA, Dr Vinayan KP, Dr Sheffali Gulati, Dr Pratibha Singhi, Dr Heather Fullerton, President, International Pediatric Stroke Organisation (IPSO), Dr Maja Steinlin, Vice President, and International Pediatric Stroke Organisation.
In his address to the assembly, Dr Nirmal Surya, President, Indian Stroke Association (ISA), said, “Pediatric stroke is a significant concern, with nearly 50–60 percent of cases being treatable and preventable.”
