Blinkit, known for its quick commerce services, is venturing into emergency healthcare with a 10-minute ambulance service in Gurugram. The company has launched its first fleet of five Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, making emergency medical transport accessible through its mobile app.

“We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities,” said Albinder Dhindsa, CEO, Blinkit. He emphasized that profit isn’t the primary goal, stating, “We will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term.”

Each ambulance is equipped with essential life-saving equipment including oxygen cylinders, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), stretchers, monitors, and emergency medicines. The service ensures professional care with each vehicle staffed by a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver.

The company plans to expand this service to all major cities over the next two years, taking a careful approach to scaling what they acknowledge is a new and critical service.
